If you have had a test or investigation (e.g. Blood Test, X-ray, Cervical Smear, MRI, Ultrasound etc.), it is your responsibility to obtain the results. We ask that patients call one week after the test has taken place to obtain your results - we have a dedicated option for results, option three on our telephone auto-attendant (02476 315432). We do not usually contact you with the outcome - you should not assume that your test results are normal, if we do not contact you.
In most cases, results can be given out by administrative staff discretely in person at Reception or over the telephone, although in some cases the Doctor will prefer to explain the results in person via a Doctor’s appointment or verbally over the telephone via a telephone consultation.
Please do not ask friends or relatives to phone or visit the surgery on your behalf to obtain your results. Due to patient confidentiality, we will be unable to give them your results.
Due to the volume of telephone calls we receive for on-the-day medical appointments, we are unable to give out test results until 11.00am. Please do not call between 8.30am and 11.00am as your call will not be answered.
We respectfully request that patients do not call the other lines before 11.00am and attempt to obtain test results - this is our busiest period on the telephone so we need to ensure that our lines are available for appointment calls.
