These are NOT booked by the surgery and our reception team are not able to book appointments for blood tests. Blood tests are carried out at Bedworth health centre.
How to book an appointment
Appointments can be booked through George Eliot Hospital (http://www.geh.nhs.uk/directory-of-services/blood-tests/). You can ask a friend or a relative to book appointments online for you if you don’t have access. Alternatively, you can call 02476 153546.
Instructions for attending your blood tests
PLEASE REMEMBER TO TAKE THE BLOOD FORM WITH YOU TO YOUR SAMPLING APPOINTMENT.
If your GP has requested a ‘Fasting sample’ blood test you should only drink water 12 hours before your appointment. You should NOT:
- Eat food: including mints, cough drops, cough linctus or throat lozenges.
- Drink anything except water, chew gum (even sugar-free) or smoke.
Getting your blood test results
It is the patient’s responsibility to call reception for test results 5 days after the collection appointment. If you have any abnormality requiring urgent intervention the surgery will contact you. Due to the volume of telephone calls we receive for on-the-day medical appointments, we are unable to give out test results until 11.00am.
